Just Me?

As young lesbian, Amy feels isolated in her large extended family but when she discovers a stockpile of vintage photographs revealing the hidden life of her great grandmother, she begins to suspect she is not alone. With both humor and tenderness, Just Me? explores the meaning of family, the nature of belonging, and the enduring power of love.

Just Me? has a run time of 22 minutes and is comprised largely of vintage photographs spanning more than 100 years from 1904 to 2006.

“With wit and perseverance, filmmaker Amy Neil chronicles the challenges of lesbian genealogy as she unravels the mystery of her great grandmother's relationship with another woman. This film has a great deal to teach us about the changing opportunities for same-sex relationships and the ways that women in the past circumvented gender and sexual conventions.”
